Panther Ausf G May 1945 Part 3

Paint time, Favorite time.
Lets dive into a few things. Panthers during this time were base coated with Olivegrun. Then the rest of the  Factory pattern was applied. So knowing that I would be using a Light Tone I picked white as my primer. This will over brighten the camo tones.

At this stage the colors are very jarring. Its not fun to look at for a long time. This is the perfect place for Filters. I needed to cool the competing down. There a great tip which is "Work from the Lightest color"- Tankart 1

I picked a Light Grey filter  It worked well with both the Dunkelgelb and the Resedagrun. It brought the Tones into line. Its cooler, Its appealing to the eyes and is the first on the weathering process It gently faded the color.

Running Gears And Primer

I added the Swing arms Into the hull. Instead of Gluing them I add a bit of Mr Mask Sol. This allows to tack the arms without having them off out every time I moved them
The Swing arms will be locked into position with a dab of Super glue. after final weathering is done.

The hull was buttoned up after the swing arms and Sol were dry.

And there was test fitting the damaged running gear

Testing the look of  "Damage" is important. Its easier to now then with paint on it
AMMO White Primer, It gives a base to start the painting process. And I'll talk about that more In Part 3

Starting to Look like a Panther

Allowing the different assemblies to dry and cure is key. While that happened, I removed the Fruilmodel Tracks. Ammo by Mig Makes a Burnishing Fluid designed for Metal tracks

After soaking the tracks with in the fluid a lovely blackish brown. The tracks are washed in water. This stops the burnishing process. They are left to dry on a sunny window.
